Redeemer Baptist Church

Small Groups

Since RBC exists to worship God, love our neighbors, see transformed lives, and to send and be sent for the spread of the gospel through Jesus, it’s important to us that we have clearly established ministry strategies for doing so.

Our primary discipleship time each week is Sunday morning worship; that could be called our flagship discipleship event. Beyond that, we have a variety of ministries that we seek to employ in service of the discipleship process.

Why Small Groups?

Small groups are teams of disciples banding together to live on mission in Coastal Georgia and to make an impact in our families, neighborhoods, and places of work and play. They are typically composed of 4-6 families and are based somewhat-geographically. Small groups meet 2-3 times/month, usually on a weeknight, in the homes of church members and aim at engaging our communities and establishing broad but needed relationships among church members and visitors.

A typical evening at a small group might look like sharing a meal together and a brief word of devotion (even just 5-10 minutes) and then simply talking with one another, playing games, or strategizing about how the group might invite others for the community to join. We also encourage groups to consider using this time to sing and pray together. Some groups may be able to engage in formal bible study together, but we realize this will not be practical for every group, so we want to allow for a good amount of flexibility of activity for each group.

The groups are great opportunities to engage with one another, evangelize our neighbors, friends, and co-workers, and invite them to get acquainted with RBC. Our Small Groups have a clear plan and strategy for multiplying throughout Coastal Georgia where new leaders and coordinators are constantly being raised up and sent out.
