The Marrow
Institute
Are you longing for deeper, more experiential communion with God? Do you wish you had a better grasp of and ability to apply the Scriptures to your life? Are you unsure which of the reformers to read and when?
If so, we want to invite you to join us in deep, rigorous study of the Word of God. Early in 2018, we began classes at The Marrow Institute, a major part of the teaching arm of Redeemer Baptist Church, in Rincon, Georgia and is modeled after The Marrow Institute of Grace Baptist Church in Commerce, Georgia.
The Marrow Institute at RBC exists for the purpose of training God’s people in experiential, reformed Christianity – in other words – biblical Christianity.
We extend our invitation to participate in The Marrow Institute to any man or woman who is a member of our church, or anyone outside our membership who is a member in good standing of his/her own local church.
The program runs for 3 years at a time with classes beginning each September, running through May. We will take off for the months of June, July, and August each year (the Syllabus for each year will be published no later than July 1).
The group meets on the first Sunday each month (4:00-6:00 pm) to discuss the assigned reading. Anyone who finishes all three years will be recognized and receive a gift.
Students are expected to attend classes faithfully unless providentially hindered and complete the assigned reading in between classes. Students are expected to submit 2-3 questions from the reading to instructor(s) by the Tuesday before each class.
These questions should not be yes or no questions, but should be prompts for discussion. Students are expected to participate in class by discussing the submitted questions together and posing new questions that arise throughout the conversation.
And above all, we expect students and instructors alike to conform their lives to the truths gleaned from the readings and discussion for the sake of growing in holiness in order to have a greater experience of communion with God.
See below for a sample syllabus and then prayerfully consider participating with us in this endeavor. If you have any questions after our meeting, please let me know.
